James Ward and Jay Clarke were both knocked out in the French Open qualifiers on Monday.
Ward bowed out 6-1 6-2 to Germany's Oscar Otte while Clarke lost 2-6 7-6 (5) 6-1 to Alejandro Forkina of Spain.
Ward failed to break Otte, being broken four times himself, while he also only managed to land 63 per cent of his first serves.
He also made 28 unforced errors compared to Otte's seven as the German won more than double the amount of points.
Clarke took his first set 6-2 but he could not convert that into victory as he lost the second on a tie-break before faltering badly in the third to crumble 6-1.
