Katie Boulter causes Washington upset with victory over fifth seed

British number two Katie Boulter downed fifth seed Aleksandra Krunic in style in the first round of the Citi Open in Washington.

Boulter took just 63 minutes to triumph 6-2 6-0 over a player who sits 71 places higher in the world rankings.

The 21-year-old Boulter saved a solitary break point against her serve in the second set as she wrapped up one of the best wins of her career.

Harriet Dart's match against Belinda Bencic was delayed by the rain at 7-5 4-2 in favour of the Swiss.
