Ronnie O'Sullivan and Ding Junhui face off in the final of the World Grand Prix at Preston's Guild Hall and fans can expect plenty of fireworks with these two powerhouses of the game doing battle.
Barring a close encounter with Yan Bingtao in round two, O'Sullivan has fairly breezed his way to the final, hitting four centuries in a 5-0 whitewash of Xiao Guodong the following evening before reeling off four frames in a row to seal victory over Stephen Maguire in the semi-finals.
O'Sullivan, whose three ranking titles so far this season confirm he remains the dominant force in the game, is 4/9 to add another trophy to his burgeoning cabinet but will find a rejuvenated Ding a test of the highest order.
Following a frustrating campaign to date, wins over Mark King, Mark Joyce, Anthony McGill and Mark Selby have signalled an emphatic return to form for the Chinese star this week and expect him to build on this and finish the season strongly.
A brilliant break builder, one of the few who can match O'Sullivan in that department, Ding's pinpoint cue-ball control was again evident when he produced a flawless run of 83 to close out his semi-final match against Selby on Saturday night.
The 6-5 defeat of Selby will have given Ding a good confidence boost, especially considering Selby's excellent record in final-frame deciders, and he will fancy his chances of causing an upset in today's final.
With the two finalists hitting their straps this week and being comfortably two of the best break builders the game has ever seen, both preferring an open style of play, we could be in for plenty of big breaks in the best of 19 frames contest.
Sky Bet go 13/2 for five centuries to be made in the match, 12/1 for six, with 28/1 available for seven and 50/1 eight hundred breaks.
If this heavy-hitting pair start to fire, any of those lines could be in real danger.
