WATCH: Stephen Maguire's huge fluke at the World Snooker Championship

It has been described as the biggest fluke in the history of the Crucible and it saved Stephen Maguire from an early exit from the Betfred World Championship.

Maguire was 9-7 down to Tian Pengfei and facing an embarrassing loss to the qualifier, until a timely fluke on the blue - which he had missed - kept his hopes alive.

From there, the experience Scot worked his way level before clinching the deciding frame to progress to the second round, where he could meet Ronnie O'Sullivan.

It was hard on Tian, who matched Maguire's brace of centuries in a match packed with quality but, ultimately, decided by fortune.
