Nicky Henderson has a good strike rate at this venue and so Morning Vicar earns respect on that score although his debut effort over hurdles does not look as strong as the achievements of BOLD PLAN and Diomede Des Mottes. The latter has proven his stamina, but the selection was just behind Mister Fisher on his hurdling debut and then finished third to horses now rated 142 and 130 when finding 2m too sharp around Southwell. Evan Williams' charge looked the one to follow that day, particularly over a test such as this and he can prove the point here.
