Verdict

A race packed with potential to kick start another winter campaign at Exeter. Hopes will be high for a number of these horses, many of whom have joined new connections following success in bumpers. The likes of Blu Cavalier (Paul Nicholls) and Station Master (Kim Bailey) fit that profile. However, they will need to be classy recruits if ENNISCOFFREY OSCAR and If The Cap Fits can reproduce a similar level of ability over hurdles to that shown in bumpers. There was precious little to separate the pair in the valuable Grade 2 bumper at Aintree in April (won by Lalor), and a narrow preference is for the Emma Lavelle trained runner, who should appreciate the stiff and testing nature of this particular track.
  1. Enniscoffey Oscar
  2. If The Cap Fits
  3. Station Master
