Improved on just second start for this yard when winning 3m handicap hurdle at Galway in August. Backed it up with an excellent third of 14 at Listowel (3m) in September but possibly caught out by the shorter trip and sharp track on his recent chasing debut at Wexford. Better to come.
Standout effort over hurdles to date when winning 16-runner maiden at Kilbeggan (2¼m, good) on debut in May. Attentions now switched to the larger obstacles with a tongue tie also reached for.
Bumper winner on final start for P. M. J. Doyle who showed the benefit of his hurdling debut effort when third of 25 in maiden at Fairyhouse (2m) in April. Proved a let-down on return at Gowran last month and connections now turn their attentions to chasing. Up in trip.
Much improved for present stable this season, easily winning maiden at Punchestown (2m) in June. Fine third in 21f novice at Galway next time but not in the same form when filling that spot on both subsequent starts. Makes chasing debut with a first-time tongue tie applied.
Fortunate when winning a maiden hurdle at Down Royal last season and left chasing debut effort behind when fourth of 8 in beginners chase at Galway (2¼m, soft) 4 weeks ago. Step up to 3m looks a good move and open to further improvement with his yard in top form.
Placed on first 5 starts over hurdles and made the most of an excellent opportunity to get off the mark in 9-runner maiden at Sligo (2½m, good to soft) when last seen 6 months ago. Plenty to like for powerful connections now chasing in a first-time tongue tie (winning pointer).
Fairly useful winning hurdler who has matched that form in 5 starts over fences this season, most recently when second of 10 in handicap at Roscommon (2¾m, good to soft) just over 5 weeks ago. That effort just about sets the standard.

Speculateur (9/4), Caher Roes Den (7/2), Some Song (5/1), Jolie Jewel (6/1), Our Soldier (8/1), Rosie's Wings (10/1), Mossy Way (14/1), Look Sport (16/1), Chase The Moon (20/1)
SPECULATEUR belatedly opened his hurdles account at Sligo back in the spring and appealing as one who will excel over the larger obstacles now upped to 3m, Gordon Elliott's 5-y-o gets the verdict on return. Some Song represents the in-form Henry de Bromhead yard, and he could be the one to give the selection most to think about, with Caher Roes Den rounding off the shortlist.
