Altius¹⁷

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Saffie Osborne| T: C Appleby| BF

5/6

Frankel colt who makes plenty of appeal on paper and whilst unable to justify cramped odds, he still shaped with encouragement from a less-than-ideal position when third of 7 in a Sandown novice (7f) on debut 17 days ago. Highly likely he can improve plenty on that bare form.

Kicking Bear³⁸

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: R Havlin| T: E Walker

13/8

€130,000 2-y-o, Sioux Nation colt. Dam, useful French 9.5f/1¼m winner, half-sister to useful winner up to 9f Ana Americana. Shaped with masses of promise when a keeping-on second to one with experience in a 6.5f Newbury maiden 38 days ago. Lots more to come so the one to beat.

Procyon

Age: 2| Weight: 9-7| J: Daniel Muscutt| T: W J Haggas

14/1

Foaled January 22. €470,000 yearling, Mehmas colt. Half-brother to several winners, including winner up to 12.5f Dame Malliot, and winner up to 1m Sonny Liston and winner up to 1¼m Banksea, all smart. Makes plenty of paper appeal for all his top stable's newcomers are usually better for a run.

Altius (5/6), Kicking Bear (13/8), Afif (11/1), Procyon (14/1)

An intriguing maiden despite the small field. KICKING BEAR shaped with abundant promise amidst inexperience when second on his Newbury debut 38 days ago, impressing with the way he picked up and stuck to his task behind one with prior experience. He looks a sure-fire improver and can get off the mark. Charlie Appleby has landed the last 2 renewals of this race and his Altius may emerge as the lead threat.
