Confirmed the promise of his Newbury debut (fourth behind a useful pair) when landing 3-runner novice at Nottingham (6f). Struggled faced with a very different test in big-field Newmarket sales race last time. He'll need to have learned plenty to capitalise on a fair-looking opening mark here.

Good-looking Persian Force colt who's going the right way. Followed up his Hamilton maiden win when scoring by a neck from Super Tuscan in a well-run nursery at York. Arguably a tad fortunate last time, though, and will need another step forward to make it a hat-trick.

Transformed by gelding operation when impressively winning a novice at Chepstow (6f) in June. Found another chunk of improvement to run Henley On Thames close at York latest, looking unlucky not to win. Up 3 lb but entitled to give another good account under same 7-lb apprentice.

Capitalised on return to calmer waters when making it third time lucky in a Lingfield novice (5f). Since outclassed in a valuable event at York (6f). Worth another try over this trip but his opening mark hardly looks a generous one.

Improving Havana Grey colt who cost plenty as a breeze-up. Overcame trouble in running to narrowly get off the mark in a fairly useful Ffos Las maiden last time. He's likely better than he could show on that occasion and looks fairly treated on nursery debut.

In-form filly who won a weak 5f Musselburgh novice in late-June. Has advanced her form in defeat since, doing all she could when beaten 5ÂĽ lengths in a Ripon listed race last time. Entitled to make more impact on just her second nursery start.

Free-going Mehmas gelding. Won on debut at Bath before solid third in the Lily Agnes at Chester's May Meeting. Now tries 6f having failed to progress in various events since. A bigger-field nursery should at least suit his style, though.

Son of Starman who finished closer than previously when 3 lengths third of 7 on qualifying run at Newcastle in late-June. Could take a step forward for the switch to a nursery (following a gelding operation), though the handicapper hasn't taken any chances with his opening mark.

All the better for his debut when smooth-travelling 1ÂĽ lengths third in a big-field restricted novice at Newbury (6f). No match for a class-dropper on all-weather bow since. Could still be capable of better returned to turf by excellent yard. Each-way claims.

Standout effort of his 4 York runs came when fifth in a maiden that has worked out well in early-June. Had been gelded prior to a poor handicap debut effort behind Henley On Thames latest. Hard to be confident that the addition of cheekpieces will transform him.

Free-going sort. Race set up perfectly when collaring a subsequent winner to get off the mark on nursery debut at Pontefract (6f). Again slowly away when beaten 12½ lengths in better event at York (7f, soft) last time. Will probably fall short, even if putting it all together back down in trip.
