High-class mare who chased home Calandagan in last season's King George and got the better of that rival in this year's renewal, adding to her excellent Ascot record and really impressing in the last 2 furlongs. Hard to beat if in the same form.
Progressed into a high-class filly last year, winning the Oaks, Irish Oaks and this race before a close second in the Arc. Looked back to somewhere near her best when 4 lengths second of 8 to Ombudsman in Prince of Wales at Royal Ascot (1¼m) but needs to shrug off a poor run in the King George.
Improver at 4, building on Goodwood listed reappearance success when slamming recent German Group 1 winner Tiffany by 4½ lengths to win Group 2 at Newmarket (1½m, firm) in July. Well worth her place at the highest level.
Continued her upward curve when pipping Johanna Walsh in Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot (1½m, good to firm) in June. Little went right when well behind that same rival in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh since. No surprise were she to resume her progression now.
Edged out Earth Shot in a Goodwood listed event in May and even better form when placing in the French and Irish Oaks since. Johanna Walsh was comfortably ahead of her in the latter, though.
Came good at the third time of asking in maiden at Leopardstown (1¼m) in May and has made rapid progress since, finishing a close second in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot before taking apart her field in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh (both 1½m, good to firm; beat Inis Mor 4 lengths). Should go well.
Won Musidora here on reappearance before excellent 3¾ lengths second of 9 to Thundering On in Oaks at Epsom (1½m, good to soft) in June. Has the 13-day turnaround as an obvious reason for a lesser run in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot. Freshened up since and can bounce back to form.
Won her first 3 starts, including 1½m Cork Group 3. Continued her progress with 3 lengths third to Johanna Walsh and Inis Mor in Irish Oaks at the Curragh (1½m) last month. Faced with an inadequate test and ran with credit under circumstances when 3 lengths fourth in 1m Leopardstown Group 3 latest.
Group 3 winner as a juvenile. Third in the Oaks at Epsom but beaten 9¾ lengths (Legacy Link 6 lengths ahead in second) and last in the Irish version at the Curragh since. The cheekpieces she wore last time are quickly discarded.

Forecasts
Kalpana (10/11), Minnie Hauk (4/1), Johanna Walsh (5/1), Legacy Link (12/1), Earth Shot (20/1), Inis Mor (20/1), Sparan Nua (25/1), Tattycoram (25/1), Sugar Island (100/1)
If KALPANA can reproduce the high-class form she achieved when winning the King George she'll be a very tough nut to crack. Last year's winner Minnie Hauk is a lot better than she showed in the King George and will likely get much closer here but it could still be that the chief threat comes from progressive 3-y-o Johanna Walsh, so impressive in the Irish Oaks last time.
