Joe Walsh Flooring Handicap Hurdle

Off time: 18:32 | Winning time: 4m 55.90s

Bhean Saibhre^t³⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-12| J: Peter Smithers⁽⁷⁾| T: A A Howard| OR: 106

20/1

Strong-travelling sort. Probably still a shade too high in the weights but clearly didn't give her running at Ballinrobe in late-May.

Form: 42U1-4P

Image of Stars that are filled with the colour gold

Cocovic^h³⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Patrick M O'Brien⁽⁵⁾| T: E McNamara| OR: 106

5/2

Lightly-raced 6-y-o who finished runner-up 3 times in maidens last year. Shaped encouragingly when third over C&D (soft) on handicap debut/reappearance, and he's entitled to make a bold bid returned to less testing conditions.

Form: 82229-3

Desert Cave^p⁴⁸

Age: 8| Weight: 11-11| J: Brian Hayes| T: G Ahern| OR: 105

80/1

Failed to revive for Ian Patrick Donoghue and it's hard to be confident on first run for new yard.

Form: P6565-0

Global Skies^h²⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-9| J: Danny Gilligan| T: R O'Sullivan| OR: 103

2/1

Fairly useful on Flat (stays 1¼m). Could end up a similar standard over hurdles judging by his convincing win at Clonmel (19f) last time, and a 9 lb rise probably won't be enough to prevent a follow up.

Form: 9078-21

Qaasid^p²⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 11-9| J: Paddy Hanlon⁽⁵⁾| T: J J Hanlon| OR: 103| CD

20/1

Justifiably awarded 15-runner C&D handicap (soft) in May. Probably found race coming too soon at Punchestown subsequently, though will likely find life tougher from his revised mark, regardless.

Form: 820S-10

The First Turn²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-9| J: Phillip Enright| T: S Curling| OR: 103

10/1

Beat a now-useful sort in a bumper at Thurles on debut last October. Little impact 3 starts over hurdles, but he does at least return to a more suitable trip on handicap debut.

Form: 177P-4

General Clermont³²

Age: 10| Weight: 11-8| J: Darragh O'Keeffe| T: D E Fitzgerald| OR: 102| C| D

10/1

Went close off lower hurdles mark at Killarney last summer. Best not judged on his latest start over fences, and he's weighted to go close now reverted to hurdling.

Form: 2926-4P

Warm In Gorey^b¹⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-5| J: Simon Torrens| T: P J Rothwell| OR: 99| D

20/1

Tactically-versatile sort. Confirmed return to form with third in handicap at Downpatrick latest, and he looks potentially well treated on his best form from last summer.

Form: BPPP-33

The Vegas Raider^t,v⁴³⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-3| J: Michael Kenneally⁽⁵⁾| T: K A Heffernan| OR: 97

28/1

Tends to save his best for Ballinrobe, Below form at Cork on latest start in April last year, however, he goes well fresh and has good-value claimer aboard for return so any market support would be significant.

Form: 160920/

Moonlight Paradise⁴⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Alan O'Sullivan⁽⁵⁾| T: P Nolan| OR: 96

11/1

Successful sole start in points. Finished closer than previously under Rules when fourth in a Wexford maiden on return. Opening mark demands improvement, but that's entirely possible given her profile.

Form: 1750-4

Pure Logic^p¹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Josh Williamson⁽⁵⁾| T: J J Hanlon| OR: 94

25/1

Maiden who got back on track when fifth at Downpatrick (2¼m). Needs step up in trip/switch to handicap company to bring about a chunk of improvement.

Form: 42/3-765

Committee Meeting^b³⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 10-13| J: Dylan Robinson| T: P J Rothwell| OR: 93

25/1

Showed ability at the start of his career but has gone the wrong way.

Form: 6PU/80-P

Friar Hogan^t³⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 10-10| J: Sean O'Keeffe| T: D Hassett| OR: 90

10/1

Lightly-raced 5-y-o. Booked for a place (at worst) when carried out over C&D in late-May and in the mix if he can build on that back under less testing conditions.

Form: 0/060-0C

Cullenwaine^b³³

Age: 8| Weight: 10-0| J: Shane O'Callaghan⁽³⁾| T: David O'Sullivan| OR: 75| BF

16/1

Underlined his inconsistency over fences at Tramore last time, and he faces a stiff task from out of the weights on return to hurdling.

Form: 0502-25

Non-Runners

Mickey Cohen²⁶⁹

Weight: 11-6| Age: 5

T: N Meade J: Mr Finn Tegetmeier

Forecasts

Global Skies (2/1), Cocovic (5/2), Mickey Cohen (4/1), Friar Hogan (10/1), The First Turn (10/1), General Clermont (10/1), Moonlight Paradise (11/1), Cullenwaine (16/1), Warm In Gorey (20/1), Bhean Saibhre (20/1), Qaasid (20/1), Pure Logic (25/1), Committee Meeting (25/1), The Vegas Raider (28/1), Desert Cave (80/1)

GLOBAL SKIES is going the right way now, and he can follow up his Clonmel success despite a hefty rise in the weights. Warm In Gorey, General Clermont and Cocovic appeal as the most likely dangers.
