4-y-o who tasted success twice last at up to 1m last season and has enhanced his form since with cheekpieces, placed both starts this spring, latterly on first crack over this trip at Nottingham. Wasn't seen to best effect on that occasion either so seems sure to go well from the same mark.

Low-mileage filly who was successful on second of 3 starts in novice company and continued theme of race-by-race progress when finishing a good second on handicap debut at Newcastle. That race worked out but drop to this distance looked against her at Lingfield a month later.

Signed off time in Ireland with a 15-runner maiden win at Listowel in September. Always behind in the Spring Mile on handicap/stable debut and needs to leave that form well behind up in trip.

Fairly useful before losing her form for Harry Charlton. Underwent a breathing operation but didn't seem to see it out when fourth of 5 in handicap at Thirsk (1½m, good to soft) 15 days ago

Shaped best when fourth of 7 at Musselburgh over 1m in September, denied clear run in final furlong and confirmed that promise when successful ay Chester a week later. Off since and record fresh suggests he'll need this.

Confirmed debut promise when landing 5-runner novice at Newcastle in January (1m). Reportedly had irregular heartbeat when not given a hard time and retains plenty of potential from this mark back up in trip switched to grass.

Turf winner in Ireland. Much better effort in all-weather handicaps for new yard when fourth of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) in December but needs to shrug off a lesser effort at Southwell over 1m last month.

Showed promise when fourth at Newbury after a breathing operation in September but failed to impress with his head carriage when well held both starts the following month. Off since.

Forecasts

Winter Flower (5/2), Cavolo Nero (11/4), Ted Le Saux (3/1), Empire Of Light (8/1), Due To Henry (10/1), Roarin' Success (12/1), Ouro Preto (12/1), Cancelled (18/1), Jujubella (20/1), Naples (40/1)

Verdict

CAVOLO NERO has returned with a pair of rock-solid efforts and given he was a shade better than the result to boot on his first try at this trip at Nottingham 3 weeks ago, he seems very likely to go well. Low-mileage 4-y-o Ted le Saux could be well handicapped for his leading yard so demands respect, along with Winter Flower.
