Horse A-Z
Doyen gelding who was well held starting out in a hot race at Fairyhouse (2m) recently.

Timeform
Sent off 150/1 and could hardly have shown any less in bumper at Cork (19f, good to soft) on recent debut.

Timeform
Ocovango gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler First Dare. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdle winner/chaser (winner around 2m) Primoz. Showed a bit when a well-held third at Gowran (2¼m, heavy) on last month's debut.
|
Timeform
Looks one for the longer term judged on his opening effort at Punchestown in February. Up in trip.
|
Timeform
Improved appreciably on his debut form when second of 9 in bumper at Leopardstown (2½m, good) in December. Since left Brian M. McMahon.
|
Timeform
Court Cave gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser (stayed 25f) Askmeroe.
|
Timeform
Maxios gelding. Brother to smart hurdler/top-class chaser Gaelic Warrior. Dam ran twice on Flat in France. Makes obvious appeal on paper.
|
Timeform
Down the field all 3 starts in bumpers. First run for yard after leaving Richard John O'Brien

Timeform
€17,000 3-y-o, El Salvador gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Rexem and bumper winner Geraldo. Joined a top yard after finishing runner-up on only outing in points in November.

Forecasts

Sparkling Wit (6/4), Too Hot To Trot (2/1), Muckanagh Lough (3/1), Double Dare (10/1), Little Ginger (20/1), Big Boy Dan (28/1), Ruled By The Sun (33/1), Suresuresure (125/1), Cloghoula More (250/1)

Verdict

SPARKLING WIT stands out on paper being a brother to connections' smart hurdler/top-class chaser Gaelic Warrior, so he's a straightforward choice to come out on top before market clues. Muckanagh Lough has the best form on offer courtesy of his runner-up effort at Leopardstown (for Brian M. McMahon) in December, while Too Hot To Trot is another interesting Rules newcomer having joined a top stable after finishing second on his only outing in points.
