Geordieland gelding. Dam, ran twice in bumpers, half-sister to unreliable but fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Wild West Wind and bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Whitehotchillifili, both stayed 3¼m. Bred more for stamina than speed but still highly respected on debut.

Schiaparelli gelding. Dam, 21f/2¾m hurdle/chase winner, half-sister to useful bumper winner/hurdler (stayed 2¼m) Meet The Legend. Showed a bit when eighth in 12-runner bumper at Wincanton (15.2f) on debut last month and should have learnt from that initial experience.

Forecasts

Triple Edge (6/4), Bannerdown (3/1), Horethorne (3/1), Jukella (9/2), Mysteriosa (25/1), Tuscaloosa (50/1)

Verdict

BANNERDOWN showed promise under a considerate ride on his debut at Stratford last month and with that form recently franked by the winner, he's fancied to get off the mark at the second time of asking. Horethorne is bred more for stamina than speed but wouldn't need to be anything out of the ordinary to make a serious impact. Triple Edge is a well-bred sort who is entitled to step forward from his initial outing, too.
