Has won 2 hunter chases and been placed last 2 starts in points (latest Mar 22). Tongue tie goes on and has an interesting jockey booking but he probably lacks the class of a few of these.

Fairly useful hunter chaser in 2024/25 (won this race) but has seemingly lost his way this season.

Back in good heart with a couple of point victories over the winter and he shaped better than the distance beaten suggests from a less-than-ideal spot in the Festival Challenge Cup Hunters' Chase at Cheltenham 3 weeks ago.

Useful chaser at his best. Multiple winning pointer, including on latest of 3 starts since last seen under Rules (Mar 21). This is a whole lot tougher.

Useful at one time but raced mainly in the pointing sphere these days, successful once from 8 starts since last seen under Rules in 2023/24 and placed last month. Has his work cut out here.

Smart for Willie Mullins in his prime. Has won 3 times in points this winter and has made a good start in hunters, second at Naas and Gowran (25f). This trip is probably at the limit of his stamina but he's hard to get away from.

Unreliable sort who has had plenty of racing in the pointing field this season, third to City Chief last time (Mar 21).

Won the Troytown at Navan in 2024 and ran well on first go in a point on return in February, beaten 8 lengths by Lets Go Champ (subsequently beat Hunters Yarn).

Useful bumper/fairly useful hurdle winner for Paul Nicholls and though he didn't set the world alight in 2 chase starts he's done well in points for new trainer, successful the last twice. Unexposed and a big player.

Forecasts

Hunters Yarn (2/1), Wrappedupinmay (2/1), Solitary Man (11/2), Big Interest (13/2), Chemical Energy (17/2), Asphalt Cowboy (12/1), City Chief (14/1), Five Star Getaway (16/1), Now Where Or When (22/1), Stuzzikini (22/1)

Verdict

WRAPPEDUPINMAY has time on his side now tackling a hunter chase on the back of 2 point wins for Sam Curling and he's preferred to the classy Hunters Yarn, who would benefit from a shorter trip ideally. Chemical Energy and Solitary Man both contested the big one at the Cheltenham Festival and will find this much easier.
