Has a good record here, with wins in this race last season as well as over 3¼m in November. Plugged on into the placings on his last 2 starts over C&D and though he's back at a similar mark from which he took this last year, he may be more effective over further at his advanced age.

One-time fairly useful hurdler/winning chaser for Henry de Bromhead, but no recent form and increasingly looks one to avoid.

Made a winning start in this sphere at Uttoxeter in November and backed it up with a good second at Market Rasen. Put a blip on heavy ground behind him with a good second at Exeter 18 days ago (just failed) and he's still less exposed than most.

Back on the up for his current yard when landing 8-runner handicap chase at Newcastle at the start of March before following up in game fashion at Doncaster (3¼m, good to soft) a week later. Remains on a competitive mark and return to right-handed track should suit.

Only poor nowadays but he produced his best effort for some time from 5 lb out of the weights when runner-up in an 11-runner handicap at Hexham (4m) 10 days ago. That was a hard race and he'll do well to back that up for all he does have winning C&D form.

Limited sort but at least shaped as if retaining the bulk of his ability after a year off when fifth in handicap hurdle (6/1) at Newcastle 67 days ago. Back over fences now with stamina to prove.

Forecasts

Jamesieconn (10/11), Voleur De Terres (9/4), Girls Best Friend (7/2), Super Citizen (11/2), Kingofthegame (9/1), Steal The Moves (10/1), Don Brocco (12/1), Tory Hill (16/1), Baptism Of Fire (400/1)

Verdict

A decent heat, with JAMESIECONN fancied to bring up the hat-trick having been given only a minor rise for his latest Doncaster success. Girls Best Friend has done well in his first season chasing and remains unexposed, whilst Voleur de Terres has proved a completely different proposition of late and holds strong claims of completing her own hat-trick.
