Fairly useful hurdler for Gordon Elliott. Modest form over fences for current yard but made the frame in handicaps last 4 starts, despite having been unsuited by the drop back in trip when fourth of 8 at Bangor (17.4f, good) final outing. Becoming well treated and upped in distance on return.

More miss than hit overall, often finding little. However, he was on a going day when emerging on top at Southwell last time and, with this step back up in trip unlikely to be an issue, he needs considering up 5 lb.

Couple of respectable runs over fences last season, including here. Down another 3 lb ahead of return. Wouldn't dismiss.

Well supported when easily opening his account over hurdles here last year. Has shown a bit over fences this term and perhaps a return to this venue off reduced mark could spark a bigger performance.

Won over C&D in May. Several heavy defeats since but much more like it when second at long odds in a 23.4f handicap hurdle at this venue 28 days ago. 5 lb higher back over fences.

Little show in 3 qualifying runs over 2m and well held upped in trip both starts in handicaps despite being prominent in the betting. Headgear applied for chasing bow.

Forecasts

Brother Boris (5/2), Flash In The Park (5/2), Little Wren (9/2), Crac De Megaudais (5/1), Annie Nail (9/1), As Tears Go By (10/1), Miss Fedora (22/1)

Verdict

It could be worth chancing the returning AS TEARS GO BY, who's becoming well treated and is back at a more suitable trip. Flash In The Park is the obvious threat if able to back up his Southwell win, though it wouldn't surprise if Little Wren showed a lot more now going chasing.
