Horse A-Z
Scorpion gelding. Half-brother to modest hurdler/fair chaser Artic Row, stays 3m, and fair hurdler Artic Mann. Dam (c126/h108), 2m/17f hurdle/chase winner (stayed 2½m), half-sister to fair hurdler/smart chaser (stayed 3½m) Artic Jack. Bred to stay well.

Sea Moon gelding. Dam, ran twice on Flat, closely related to useful 6f-1m winner Passing Star. Wears tongue strap for debut and is bred to possess a fair bit of speed.

€28,000 3-y-o, Bande gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/chaser Homme d'Un Soir, stays 2½m, and For Friendship. Dam 1m/9f winner.

Vadamos gelding. Dam fair 3m hurdle winner. Fell sole start in Irish points (Apr 2025) but shaped with a bit of promise when fifth of 12 in a C&D bumper on Rules debut last month and entitled to do better.

Timeform
Diamond Boy gelding. Dam (h105) bumper/17f hurdle winner. Makes plenty of appeal on paper for top yard.

£100,000 purchase after winning sole start in Irish points in October. Half-brother to French chaser King Pineau (19f-2¾m winner, by Gentlewave). Dam, lightly raced over hurdles in France, 1½m-15f winner on Flat. Yard does well in this sphere and very much one to note on Rules debut.

€15,000 3-y-o, £42,000 4-y-o, Yeats gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Born In The West. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (stayed 2½m) Monbeg Rose. Off mark in Irish points at second attempt (Nov 23).
|
Timeform
Waldgeist gelding who showed up well for a long way but was found wanting for know-how in the straight when fourth of 12 in a C&D bumper on debut last month. May build on that initial promise.
|
Timeform
Getaway mare who was bought for £120,000 after winning sole start in Irish points. Sister to useful chaser Lord Schnitzel, and half-sister to 2 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/chaser The Dubai Way, stayed 2¾m. Interesting to see what the betting makes of her ahead of Rules debut.

Timeform
Way To Paris gelding. Dam unraced. Makes little appeal on paper.

Forecasts

Loch Ness Pineau (3/1), Diamond Street (4/1), Current Edition (9/2), Sassella Storm (6/1), Britway Belle (7/1), Mcelhattan (12/1), Country Pursuits (14/1), All Good To Go (16/1), Arizona Moon (16/1), Scaredofnothing (20/1)

Verdict

The pair with experience don't set the bar too high, so this looks ripe for a Rules newcomer and LOCH NESS PINEAU fits the bill having joined the thriving Ben Pauling yard after winning his sole outing in Irish points back in the autumn. Diamond Street and Britway Belle are two other appealing types on paper who warrant close market inspection.
