£100,000 Irish point winner who finished an encouraging second of 12 in bumper at Worcester in October. Quickened nicely to go one place better switched to hurdling a month later and he's expected to build on that under a penalty.

Second twice in bumpers in Ireland prior to finishing runner-up on hurdle/stable debut at Ascot (15.7f) and didn't need to be at his best to go one better upped in trip at Musselburgh (19.8f) last time. Carries penalty here but there may be better to come on just his third start for James Owen.

Fair Newton Abbot bumper winner in June. Showed benefit of hurdling debut/a wind op when third of 9 in novice hurdle at Catterick (19.3f, good) 24 days ago, smooth headway home turn but no extra run-in. Entitled to take another step forward.

150/1, no short-term promise when ninth of 11 in Hereford maiden hurdle on last month's debut.

Looked in need of the experience on bumper/hurdle debut but was showing improved form when unseating at the last in a steadily-run 4-runner novice at Doncaster (11/2, 19.4f, good to soft) 27 days ago, likely to have finished third. Worth noting if the market expects him to build on that.

€62,000 purchase after getting off the mark in Irish points at second attempt (May 2025). Interesting hurdle debutant is worth a second look in the betting.

Picked up for £155,000 after winning an Irish point last spring. Travelled well long way when 16 lengths second in historically useful maiden at Leicester (20.5f heavy) on debut last month. Open to progress, with less-testing ground/first-time tongue tie (previously had wind op) a possible a help.

£42,000 buy from the Irish pointing field who shaped like a stayer on bumper/hurdle debut and took a step forward when third behind a subsequent winner at Warwick (21f, soft, 50/1) 29 days ago. Likely to improve, especially as his stamina is drawn out.

Ran out sole start in points (Mar 2025). Isn't badly bred but shaped as if needing more time/longer trips when well held on hurdles bow at Catterick (19.3f) 12 days ago.

Forecasts

Red Oak (11/4), Legendary Luke (4/1), Warriors Destiny (11/2), Name Me Nicely (6/1), Shotgun Rider (6/1), Seaniecon (13/2), Alba Crus (8/1), Annie Mcgrath (33/1), Blazing Saint (100/1)

Verdict

A market to keep a close eye on. Expensive point purchase SHOTGUN RIDER travelled well for a long way when runner-up on hurdle debut and may be able to go one better in a first-time tongue tie. £100,000 Irish point winner Legendary Luke has made a promising start under Rules and should have more to offer under a penalty, while Warriors Destiny finished behind a next-time-out winner at Warwick and would be especially interesting if supported with Jonathan Burke taking over in the saddle.
