Took well to fences last term, successful at Cheltenham last November and also a good fifth in National Hunt Chase at the Festival there in March. That spark has been missing so far this season but this represents a notable drop in class and a change of headgear may help his cause.

A fairly useful 22f winner over hurdles at his best and left opening chase run trailing in his wake when landing 6-runner handicap chase at Doncaster 3 weeks ago, Up 6 lb but there could be more to come.

Point/Bumper/hurdle winner who made a winning chase debut at Taunton on return in November, his sound jumping sealing the race at the last. No surprise were he to go on again.

Point winner who built on promise of first 2 starts in maiden hurdles when landing the odds in good style at Hereford (25.5f, good to soft). Ruined his chance by hanging/jumping right at Fontwell in March and made inauspicious reappearance/chase debut at Sandown last month.

Much improved switched to fences with cheekpieces applied last season, winning twice. Latest second at Aintree just about a career best so he needs considering up 1 lb for that.

Irish point winner who also landed his first 2 chases last season at around 3m. Resumed from 9 months off with an encouraging third of 9 in handicap at Ascot (23.8f, good) in November but he recoiled from that at Exeter last time. Blinkers now on.

Neil Mulholland saddles a couple of interesting runners in TRANSMISSION and Kelce. The latter arrives in top form, which cannot be said of the former but this represents an ease in grade and in the hope the visor sharpens him up a bit, Transmission is preferred. Of the rest, Wicked Thoughts is open to plenty of improvement as a chaser.
