Happy New Year From Ayr Racecourse Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race)

Looked useful when winning a course bumper last February and made a sound start to his hurdle career when third of 12 in 19f Carlisle novice at the end of November. May do better.

Made frame all 3 starts in Irish points. Runner-up twice in maiden/novice at Carlisle but the form is only modest. Likely vulnerable to a few in this line-up.

Winning pointer who followed suit when landing an 11-runner bumper at Thurles on Rules debut in February 2024. Third in another bumper at Fairyhouse 2 months later but hasn't been since. Has left Willie Mullins. Hooded for hurdle debut, with betting perhaps the best guide to expectations.

Fourth in course bumper last January but unlikely to be of any interest over hurdles until handicapping judged on his 2 efforts this winter.

Has shaped well in a pair of 2½m Hexham maiden hurdles since returning from a long absence, latterly finishing second of 8 to very useful Flat performer Tashkhan. Open to further improvement.

Showed promise amidst inexperience when third of 10 in Ffos Las bumper for Paul Nicholls last spring. Filled the same position in 2m Market Rasen hurdle on return for new yard and should have more to offer, particularly now moving up in trip.

Failed to trouble the judge both completed starts in points and looks one for the longer term based on his 2 maiden hurdle efforts in recent months.

Made the frame in a couple of maiden hurdles over this sort of trip for Pauline Robson last term. New yard has been doing well with new recruits this season and market support for this one could prove significant.

£80,000 point recruit who has been runner-up on all 3 outings under Rules, including maiden hurdles at Perth (2½m) and Haydock (3m) this season. Likely to be on the premises again.

Point winner. 6/1, promising third of 4 in novice hurdle at Kelso (21f, heavy) on Rules debut 38 days ago. Open to progress and one to consider.

Made frame sole start in points last March. Showed a bit when fifth of 12 on 19f Carlisle hurdle debut in late November but the reopposing Blofeld was ahead in third.
