Made plenty of appeal on paper, but tailed off in a bumper (for Gordon Elliott) in January and fared no better tried in tongue strap when down the field in a Fontwell novice on stable/hurdling debut last month. Needs to leave previous efforts well behind.

Down the field in varied events on Flat, tried in cheekpieces when well held on handicap debut at Chepstow final outing in May last year. Has enough to prove making first run since leaving Archie Watson following a lengthy absence.

Very green when pulled up in novice hurdle at Chepstow on Rules debut earlier this month, but proved a different proposition when causing a 300/1 shock in an Exeter maiden 2 days ago. Task will be to back up latest run if turned out again quickly.

Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/smart chaser Drop Out Joe (2½m-3¼m winner). Dam, 2¼m chase winner in France, half-sister to smart chaser up to 3m La Landiere. Has a fair standard to aim at on debut.

Fairly useful winner on Flat in France in 2023, then missed following year. Left stable/hurdling debut form behind when third in a Ludlow novice in February, before running to a similar level when second in maiden at Chepstow in April. Remains capable of better on return.

Looked in need of the experience on debut when eighth of 11 in bumper at Chepstow in November. May be just be better for this first experience as he starts off over hurdles.

In need of the experience in 2 bumpers, but showed a bit more than on hurdling debut when fourth of 7 in novice at this course (19.7f) last month. However, he'll be of more appeal once handicapping.

Posted a fairly useful effort when bagging Wexford bumper in October on final run for John Nallen, form boosted by the second winning over hurdles time. Since changed hands for £80,000 and he's an interesting hurdling debutant for his new yard. Engaged 12.18 Uttoxeter Friday.

Fair form at best on the Flat but has raced too freely sent hurdling last 2 starts (fitted with a hood), finishing well held in novice at this C&D on latest outing 25 days ago. Needs to settle better if he's match his Flat form in this sphere.

Having been placed both starts in Irish points, was sent off favourite but only hinted at ability in an Ascot bumper on Rules debut. Unseated on first start over hurdles, before well held in a Taunton novice 9 days ago. Looks one for further down the line.

Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Bucko's Boy (2¼m-23f winner) and fair hurdler Janworth (2½m winner). Dam, 2m hurdle winner, half-sister to fair hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 33f) West of The Edge. Runner-up on first start in points, but pulled up next time (Nov 23).
Timeform
Fair form in bumpers, placed twice from 4 starts, but well held tried on the Flat in April. After 7 months off (had wind op), some encouragement when staying-on fourth of 8 in novice at Plumpton on hurdles bow 19 days ago. More needed in this contest.

Timeform
Promise sole outing in bumpers but only modest form when mid-field in 2 starts over hurdles this season, fifth of 10 in mares' novice at Warwick (19f) on latest run a month ago. Capable of better, though she might be more one for handicaps after another run.

Bumper winner at the fourth attempt and promise on both completed starts over hurdles, seeming stretched by the longer trip when well-beaten fourth of 10 in maiden at Wexford (20.7f) in April. Off since but she's respected back down in distance with tongue strap added.

Forecasts

Minella Jury (5/4), King Of Records (3/1), Ufouria (13/2), Blowers (8/1), Twistthenightaway (10/1), Garavogue (20/1), Raging Al (25/1), Celtic Queen (25/1), Lipstick (25/1), Alfa Charlie (33/1), Man Up Front (50/1), Run Away Joe (50/1), Triple Haych (50/1), Big Lou (66/1)

Verdict

KING OF RECORDS was much improved from his hurdling debut effort when third at Ludlow in February and backed that up when second at Chepstow next time, so he is taken to open his account in this sphere with more still to offer on his reappearance. Ufouria showed promise over hurdles in Ireland and could be the main danger, ahead of Minella Jury.
