In fine form for Dan Skelton during the spring, winning at Chepstow and Worcester (both around 2m) prior to finishing a creditable third a Class 2 handicap chase here in June. Good run of form came to a halt in the Summer Plate at Market Rasen, though, and needs to bounce back on debut for new yard.

Followed January's Ayr handicap chase success with a string of below-par performances, but back in the groove when scoring in decisive fashion at Ffos Las in May. Solid second over hurdles at Aintree later that month, but record when fresh isn't great and there's a question mark regarding this trip.

Was in good form during spring 2024, winning mares' handicap hurdles at Huntingdon and Hereford prior to going down narrowly in her hat-trick bid at Kelso. Understandably failed to land a blow back from 19 months off at Warwick and it'll be interesting to see how she gets on switched to fences here.

Runner-up in a Lingfield maiden hurdle in January, but pulled up both starts switched to fences this season (undergone a wind op since latest run here at the end of October) and now has a fair bit to prove.

Still a maiden, but this Irish point winner has been placed in all but one of her 8 completed starts over hurdles/fences. Good start for this yard when runner-up on return in a handicap chase at Warwick (2½m, good to soft) and, on that evidence, a deserved first career win is surely near.

Forecasts

Largy Force (11/10), Better Off Alone (9/4), Get Up Mush (9/4), Politacus (11/2), Doyouknowwhatimean (6/1), Taras Halls (7/1), Il Va De Soi (10/1), Tune In A Box (10/1), Lively Citizen (28/1)

Verdict

Judged on her reappearance second starting out for this yard at Warwick, LARGY FORCE looks nailed on to shed her maiden tag under Rules sooner rather than later, and it may well be in this handicap chase that she achieves that feat. If Get Up Mush is able to pick up where he left off 15 months ago he'll be a serious threat, while Il Va de Soi brings potential to the table and Politacus needs a second look on her chase debut.
