Inexperience showed on debut when beaten by one who was already up and running at Musselburgh (7f, good), form franked by the win of the third next time. Odds-on favourite on that occasion so clearly better expected, will be suited by 1m plus.

Fourth and last on debut at Musselburgh (7f, good) finishing 2L behind Chase The Dollar, shaped with a little more promise that the bare form shows. Tenderly handled, bred for further, interesting to see how he fares this time around, should improve.

One of two from this yard, newcomer (stable had two recent debutant juvenile winners), fourth foal, half-brother to 12f winner Amadeus and useful 2yo 1m winner Blue Gardenia. Dam 1m winner, interesting to see how he travels in the market.

The more experienced runner from this yard, 11-1, given a considerate introduction when 7L fifth at Doncaster (7f, good/soft), showed inexperience and promise in equal measure. Capable of better, has a bit to find with the principals.

Chase The Dollar (5/6), Summa Peto (5/4), Pythagoras (10/3), Innse Gall (11/2), Spectrometer (6/1)

Verdict

An intriguing 2yo race with the standard set by Summa Peto although there is an air of doubt hanging over his runner-up effort last time in a race which was left as a match. He ran the Chesham second March Law to a short-head that day but can it be taken at face value. He’s shown that he has ability but CHASE THE DOLLAR is taken to go one better than on his debut at Musselburgh where he was beaten by a more experienced Fahey runner with Innse Gall back in fourth. It’s interesting therefore that Richard Fahey runs a couple here with the newcomer Pythagoras possibly the most interesting especially as the yard have had a couple of debut 2yo winners in the past few days.
  1. Chase The Dollar
  2. Summa Peto
  3. Pythagoras
