Lone hurdles win came over C&D so certainly should be at home in that's sense on chase debut but only previous try on heavy ground saw him well beaten. Enough doubts to look elsewhere.

Three-times placed over hurdles including in a C&D handicap off this mark two starts back. Bred to relish bigger obstacles (dam a brother to Gentleman Jon) and 1-1 record on heavy. Could easily improve markedly now over fences.

Winner over hurdles in France in 2016 but only made the track twice for this yard. First time over fences today after 824 days off. This yard mustard with horses back from long absences so market check needed.

Winner of a 2m3½f Huntingdon novice hurdle on good ground but unraced on heavy and was tailed off on recent chase debut. Others preferred although worth noting he's had a breathing operation since last seen.

Showed some initial promise over hurdles, but handicapper looks to have been asking too much of him since switching to handicaps. Sliding in the weights, but still plenty to prove on his chase debut.

Point-to-point winner didn't achieve much in four-race hurdles career but ran a stormer when a fast finishing second beaten a nose on chase debut over 2m at Leicester. Almost certain to relish longer trip so heavy ground the only doubt.

0-4 over fences, but produced a marginal best effort last time out when less than 2L third over C&D (2m4f, good) in a 0-110. Wasn't as good when it was soft the time before at Ffos Las, so a bit to prove on this ground, but not ruled out.

Point-to-point winner on good-to-soft ground was pulled up on Rules bow before 66/1 second over 2m7f at Exeter. Unseated on the Flat at Taunton latest but still an unexposed sort who clearly handles testing conditions.

Verdict

With the vast majority of these over fences for the first time jumping will be absolutely pivotal. Colin Tizzard is among the best trainers of steeplechasers in the game (24 winners over fences this season) and his JAYTRACK PARKHOMES always looked a chaser in the making despite going close a few times over hurdles so he is worth chancing first time up. Donatello Mail has the best piece of chase form on offer with his second at Leicester although both his Rules and point-to-point form makes heavy ground a concern at this stage. Also shortlisted is Troed Y Melin who ran well at Exeter before slipping on the flat last time out.
