Dual Plumpton winner on heavy a couple of seasons ago, and returned in good enough form last spring. Let down by jumping at former track after another break last month, though, and must do better now.
Ended last season with selling hurdles wins for Neil Mulholland at Stratford and Wetherby, but he's been well below that form for his new yard, including over fences the last twice.
Yet to win, and can make mistakes, but jumped fine and produced a lefetime best when a nose second of 8 to Tzar de L'elfe in a 3¼m handicap chase at Plumpton last time. Will go well if avoiding errors again.
Won an Irish point-to-point, but a maiden under rules. Better effort over fences when beaten in a bunch finish on Taunton debut, but again ran with credit when 16L second to One Style at Hereford last time. Longer trip should be in his favour now.
Runner-up over hurdles at Kelso in November, but he jumped poorly on his only chase start for previous connections, and unseated early last time. Bit to prove after that.
Would have gone close but for unseating on debut for current yard at Newcastle in November, but ran poorly returned to hurdles last time, so easy to have reservations for all his yard is in good form of late.
Has a good strike-rate for one of his ability, and won over a marathon trip at Hexham on his latest chase start. Good third over hurdles last time, and remains on a very reasonable mark.
Forecasts
Tractor Fred (2/1), Dontdelay (7/2), Benechenko (4/1), Hastrubal (6/1), The Lion Dancer (8/1), Road Warrior (12/1), Carrigmoorna Matt (25/1)
TRACTOR FRED and Benechenko are maidens under rules, but both arrive in fine form and the former was denied by the narrowest of margins at Plumpton last time. He jumped better than previously at the Sussex venue, and can score if again avoiding mistakes. Dontdelay ran well over hurdles last time, and won over further at Hexham prior to that, so is also worth considering having not gone up much in the weights.
