Solid and consistent in four starts between 6f and 1m since last month. Third of 15 beaten 2½L over a similar trip last month in a Bellewstown handicap and will look to progress here.

Six-race maiden and nothing of note in four dismal handicap starts this year. Looks vulnerable in this company and others hold stronger profiles.

Sole career win on turf in 16 starts came over C&D a little over 12 months ago off a 3lb higher mark. The gelding has appeared to regress alarmingly since and remains easy to oppose.

Seven-race maiden yet to hit the frame on any occasion. First time visor unlikely to bring about the required amount of improvement needed to play a role here.

Formerly trained by Richard Hannon, David Brown and Adrian Nicholls in Britain, rated 90 two years ago. Not disgraced in five starts for current connections but tough ask and others preferred.

Improving sort, posted a career best effort when finishing second of 15 beaten a little over 2L in a Bellewstown maiden claimer last month. Market likely to be the best guide on first start since leaving trainer Richard Brabazon.

Won a career third win at Roscommon over 7f in July beating Piper Bomb off a similar mark. Has struggled overall in three starts since and very little to be positive about.

Sole Flat win on turf in 21 starts came over this trip in a Thurles handicap in October last year off a 7lb higher mark. Busy on the level and over hurdles recently and worth a market check as post time approaches.

Off the mark for connections at the ninth time of asking when landing a Navan 1m2f handicap earlier this month off a 4lb lower mark. Drop in trip not guaranteed to suit.

Winner of three of his 29 Flat starts on turf, last success coming in an Thirsk handicap two years ago off a 27lb higher mark when in the care of trainer John Quinn. First time blinkers unlikely to bring about the required progress needed.

Below-par 14-race maiden yet to hit the frame in 10 starts on turf. Well beaten for three previous trainers and finished well down the field on yet another stable debut at Cork earlier this month. Appears out of her depth.

Plenty to take from an improved effort over C&D earlier this month. Not won for over 12 months but in the right hands to muster a bold bid.

Last seen finishing last of nine on stable debut on the AW at Dundalk in March following a 632 day break and switch from the Richard Hughes yard. Hard to fancy following another retreat.

Not much to shout about in three maiden starts before a dismal handicap debut at Killarney last month over 1m3f. Worth a check in the market taking significant drop in trip with talented apprentice in the plate.

Eight-race maiden without success in seven starts on turf. Generally well held on a couple of runs last month and hard to fancy until showing more consistency.

Verdict

A chance is taken with the John O'Connell-trained ROCKVIEW ROMAN in a tricky handicap. The three-year-old was always towards the rear on handicap debut at Killarney last month over the 1m3f trip on soft ground. The Holy Roman Emperor gelding can show enough improvement from his low mark with the adept Andrew Slattery in the plate to get the better of stablemate, Kody Ridge, last time out winner, The Lady's Bid and Russian Vine on handicap and stable debut.
  1. Rockview Roman
  2. Kody Ridge
  3. The Lady's Bid
