Sprung a 40-1 shock over this trip on his second start at Chepstow on quick ground but struggled in Group 2 Richmond Stakes subsequently. Took another step forwards when second back at 5f at Chepstow and suited by step up in trip. Sets the standard.

Son of Showcasing cost £60,000 as a yearling; a third foal and a half brother to Group-placed Chief Ironside. Likely to need further in time with plenty of stamina on dam's side but stable's juveniles going well. Worth a market check on debut.

20/1
Canford Cliffs colt bred for speed; a fourth foal and half brother to sprinting juvenile winners Yulong Baobei and Wings Of The Rock. Stable just had the one juvenile winner this year but he holds an interesting sprint pedigree on debut.

Son of Raven's Pass cost 40,000 gns as a yearling; a fifth foal and a half brother to sprint winners Celebration and Gaval. Plenty of speed on dam's side and betting should provide best guide on debut.

Well held in both starts at Bath over shorter and would need enormous improvement to even get close to the money. Others readily preferred.

Retained by his vendor for €5,000 as a yearling; a half brother to winners Aspen Belle and Very Smart. Already gelded and looks one best watched on debut.

Cost £5,000 as a yearling and £15,000 as a juvenile. Represents a stable not noted for juvenile winners and beaten 28L at 66/1 on last month's debut. Hard to fancy.

Footstepsinthesand colt ran well above market expectations when second over 7f at Newbury. The time was below average but the bare form would put him in the mix and the drop in trip should help. Can be involved.

Placed on his second and third start over this trip, including when turned over at 4/7 last time. They've both been run in good times and the form is close to the best on offer. Faces quick ground for the first time and a leading contender.

Wootton Bassett colt may need further in time and struggled to get involved on debut over this C&D. Needs miles of improvement to even consider.

Son of Tagula gelded ahead of debut. Cost €11,000 as a foal; a seventh foal and a half brother to two sprint winners. Stable not noted for first-time out juvenile scorers.

Kingman colt out of a juvenile sprint winner; stable can be costly to follow with their juveniles but smart breeding requires a market check on debut.

16/1
Son of Cable Bay and a sixth foal who is a half brother to winners Little Palaver, Little Rainbow and Little Choosey. Bred to be a sprinter and stable more than capable of readying a newcomer on debut. Worth a betting inspection.

Holy Roman Emperor colt on debut; a third foal and a half brother to Group-placed No Nonsense. Bred to be speedy but stable a touch quiet at present and without a juvenile winner this campaign.

Forecasts

Lost In Time (6/4), Raaeq (3/1), Don't Stop Dancing (8/1), Malmesbury Abbey (10/1), Lost Empire (12/1), River Nymph (16/1), Roman Melody (16/1), All You Wish (16/1), Blessed (20/1), Brenner Pass (33/1), Edebez (80/1), Live In The Moment (100/1), Party Island (100/1), Calbuco (100/1)

Verdict

Don't Stop Dancing has been underestimated in his races so far but shouldn't be here, and he's more than capable of gaining a second win. Slight preference is for LOST IN TIME who's been running in some fast run races and is only likely to improve again for his powerful connections. Lost Empire ran very well on debut and the drop in trip will help on that showing. There's a number of debutantes of interest and market moves will be noteworthy.
  1. Lost In Time
  2. Don't Stop Dancing
  3. Lost Empire
