Unloved in the market for his three starts to date under rules. Looked accident prone in point-to-points subsequently before landing a weak race in a slow time at Holnicote. Needs to step up here.
Placed three times on the level for Godolphin with his best effort coming off a mark of 75 on fast ground over 1m2f. Makes hurdling debut following 11 months on the sidelines and probably best watched today.
Five-time winner on the Flat has joined a top jumping yard. Failed to settle on hurdling bow in a much better race than this on first start following wind surgery. If that has taken the fizz out of him, then he will take all the beating here.
Middle-distance winner on the Flat who produced his best effort over timber when chasing home the useful West End Flyer here in May. Has run poorly since when a breathing problem has been reported.
Showed some promise on bumper debut having been placed in a point-to-point. Beat a hasty retreat at Cartmel on hurdling bow and possible she may have conditions faster than ideal. Worth a market check if the forecast overnight rain has an impact.
Poor form in bumpers and has fared no better over hurdles. Beaten an aggregate of 232L on last three starts and makes a comeback after a year off.
Built on the promise of her Chepstow debut to land a gamble in a poor bumper here last week. Makes hurdling debut in another uncompetitive event and interesting to see if there is further market confidence behind her.
Forecasts
Surrey Blaze (11/10), Toshima (7/2), On The Quiet (7/2), Archirondel (17/2), Cardy (10/1), Returning Glory (12/1), Fearnie Lou (100/1)
On The Quiet opened her account here last week when landing some big bets to grab a poor bumper. She could prove good enough to win this, but multiple Flat winner SURREY BLAZE will be straighter after his recent hurdling bow in a race that sets a higher standard than this. Dan Skelton's charge had every chance until the run to the last and that run alone, without factoring in likely improvement, very much makes him the one to beat. Toshima's form has an inconsistent look about it but a repeat of May's course effort would see him go well, whilst Cardy may need plenty of rain and Archirondel's rules and point-to-point form don't look good enough.
