Late developer; never really involved at any stage on both previous Wolverhampton starts (7f-1m+); it's difficult to imagine that he'll be able to compete against these rivals off top-weight; cheekpieces are newly applied.
Half-brother to four winners, including the 1m AW scorer Deglet Noor; looked to be a potentially smart prospect when making all to score over C&D last October (8/13f); should take the world of beating on seasonal reappearance.
Morpheus filly; 16/1 when successfully returning to the track from a ten month absence at Carlisle (6f, good to soft) last week, edging out Diamond Shower by a short-head; tackles a new trip on AW debut.
£48,000 yearling; built upon a promising debut (green) when beaten a neck by the still unbeaten Motakhayyel at Doncaster (1m, good to firm) - the fourth-placed horse has won since; much respected back in trip for AW debut.
Brother to the 5f juvenile winner Listen Alexander (dam was a 7f winner); went down fighting to Bumbledom in a 7f Catterick maiden (soft) last week; this race looks to be plenty more competitive.
21,000gns yearling (50,000gns vendor 2yo); 66/1 on debut when finishing a keeping on 5½L third to Far Above (8/13f) in a 6f Windsor novice (soft) 18 days ago; new trip/AW switch should prove favourable; place claims.
€140,000 yearling, sold privately as a juvenile for €130,000; seventh foal; half-brother to four winners including Sea Trial (5f-1m) and Fanny (6f-1m); market informative, with others preferred unless the vibes are positive and sustained.
Forecasts
Turjomaan (1/3), Shark (11/2), Double Honour (8/1), Hour Of The Dawn (20/1), Grab And Run (25/1), Gometra Ginty (33/1), Irish Charm (80/1)
Double Honour went mightily close to winning at Doncaster (1m) last month when finding only the Richard Hannon-trained Motakhayyel stronger, and he merits plenty of respect on AW debut for race sponsor John Dance. However, TURJOMAAN appeared every inch the real deal when following up his Ascot debut win (later disqualified) over C&D last October, and he ought to take the world of beating for last year's winning trainer Roger Varian.
- Turjomaan
- Double Honour
- Hour Of The Dawn
