Showed a very sharp turn of foot when winning a 5f maiden here in May 2018; arrives off the back of fast-finishing win in a Class 3 York handicap (5f, good to firm); 7lb higher; has also won over 6f (AW).

Stacked up a sequence of 6f AW wins (4-8) across a range of tracks (Lingfield, Chelmsford and Kempton); 3lb above her last winning mark on turf debut; this track should suit her run style (makes all).

A four-time turf winner (5f-6f); more or less right at the top of her game at present, keeping on from midfield (for pressure) to finish 1L third to Lihou over C&D (good to soft) earlier this month; similar chance to Pass The Gin.

C&D novice winner last summer; on the premises in both starts so far in 2019, including when finishing 1¾L fourth to Lihou (Princess Power third) over C&D (good to soft) earlier this month; holds realistic claims.

Stayed on well to beat Que Amoro by 1¼L in a 5f York nursery last July; made rapid late progress from an unpromising position on her belated return over C&D recently when finishing 2½L fourth to Leodis Dream; poorly drawn.

5½f French maiden winner (very soft) for Matthieu Palussiere in May 2018; bought by Richard Hannon for £130,000 in the summer of 2018 (0-6); re-sold for 20,000gns in October 2018; 50/1 when finishing last of ten over C&D 17 days ago.

Made all to land the odds (4/9f) on her first start as a 3yo at Lingfield (5f) in February; has stood plenty of racing since (2,3,4,3,3,4), but is now slowly showing signs that her form is beginning to tail-off; more required.

Won twice as a juvenile, including on soft ground at Catterick (6f) in the autumn; showed speed before weakening from the two furlong pole on her return to action at Wetherby (5½f, good) last month.

Forecast

Pass The Gin (9/4), Princess Power (7/2), Wedding Date (4/1), Probability (8/1), Society Queen (8/1), Key To Power (8/1), Be Like Me (12/1), Deira Surprise (14/1), Sylvia's Mother (20/1), No More Regrets (33/1)

Verdict

The pace-angle in this race will come from the appropriately named turf newcomer Probability, with Jo Tuite's well-drawn filly Sylvia's Mother another likely to be spotted early. Both Princess Power and Pass The Gin are very closely matched on recent C&D form and should be there or thereabouts. However, we'll chance the more moderately drawn top-weight WEDDING DATE who can hopefully negotiate the required gaps past weakening horses, and deploy her sharp turn of foot at the most crucial stage.

  3. Pass The Gin
