Runner-up over both hurdles and fences here earlier in the year, and seemed to find 3m stretching his stamina at Hexham last time. Handicapper has cut him some slack, and he looks the one to beat on balance.
Gained reward for consistency when scrambling home at Market Rasen (2m5f) in March, but ran poorly off his revised mark at Newcastle last time. Better than that would suggest, but remains vulnerable from his current mark.
Won twice at Musselburgh at up to 2½m last season, and just 1lb above his last winning mark, but form has dipped the last twice, and he needs to bounce back to be competitive.
Won at Bangor last May but a bit disappointing since, four times on the bounce a beaten favourite. Possibly needed the run on return from a break at Southwell last month, though, so not judged harshly on that, and competitive on form.
Had been struggling badly for Philip Rothwell, but a switch of stables saw him snap a long losing run over C&D last month. Had something in hand there, and a 7lb rise not prohibitive.
Forecasts
Zolfo (7/4), Quest For Life (2/1), Burning Issues (11/4), Iskabeg Lane (15/2), John Williams (14/1)
QUEST FOR LIFE failed to stay 3m at Hexham last time, and is better judged on previous form, which suggests he's the one to beat now taking on lesser rivals. Burning Issues bounced back on his first run for Jo Foster, and should remain competitive, with Zolfo best of the others, for all he's yet to fully deliver on his early chasing promise.
