10-1 and ran well before lacking a turn of foot on debut at Fontwell (good to soft) last month. Can come on for that and softer ground may also help. Trainer in good form and is 16% over five years in this sphere. Can go well.
Improved on his debut when less than 7L fourth at Catterick last time. That form looks good in the context of this race, and he should again be thereabouts.
50-1 and not disgraced when 11½L fifth of seven over C&D (soft) on debut earlier in the month. Can come on for that, but may have to wait for other days.
13-2 and showed some promise when 10L fifth of 10 at Ayr on debut (good to soft) in January. Tongue-tie now goes on, and his trainer's strike rate in British bumpers is 18% over the past five seasons. Interesting.
Fifth foal. Half-brother to point winner Ripstick. Dam point/2m-2m5f chase winner, half-sister to 2m-2m6f chase winner Pillaging Pict. Trainer 0-10 in bumpers, so looks one to watch on debut with a few others preferred.
(Not sold £13,000 3yo). Third foal. Half-sister to bumper winner Harrisons Promise. Dam modest 3m chase winner, sister to 2m3f hurdle/very smart 2m-3m1f chase winner Another Promise. Stable 5-70 in bumpers over five seasons.
50-1 but showed promise on debut when finding just a couple too good at Ayr (good to soft) last month, doing his best work at the finish. Extra furlong and stiffer track should suit and he could go close here.
Forecasts
Portstorm (9/4), Equus Dancer (11/4), Largy Perk (3/1), Eau Top (4/1), Our Promise (28/1), Harry The Potter (33/1), Temple Guide (100/1)
An interesting bumper, with travellers Eau Top, Equus Dancer and Largy Perk all representing good yards and possessing the potential to go close. However, PORTSTORM took a few people by surprise on his Ayr debut and he might have most improvement to come this time, so gets the nod.
