Twice a point-to-point winner and three times a winner over hurdles already (one a walkover) , not shown much in two starts this season and worryingly, was never going at Taunton latest. May see more now going fencing, but risky.

Makes chase debut here today, bred to make a chaser and comes into this off the back of a better effort at Chesptow. Quicker ground here a possible concern and yard not exactly firing winners in, but worthy of consideration.

Latest effort on heavy ground at Ffos Las best forgiven, and if concentrating on earlier good second to an improving Militarian than he has chances here. Has a course win to his name too and of plenty of interest today. Stays well.

Needs holding up in his races as he can be a bit keen, turned in a better effort over fences at Newcastle last time but has new questions to answer here, not least regarding this trip. Others preferred.

Has been highly tried over hurdles this season, his fifth to The Mighty Don at Cheltenham in October a good effort but chase debut here last time out saw him take a step backwards, looking a little hesitant at times. Needs to brush technique up.

Stayed on well to land a handicap chase at Plumpton in November but that was over further and he is a bit one paced, as he showed when dropped back in trip there latest. May find others a bit quicker for him here.

Pretty much exposed as moderate over fences and although his Exeter effort in November signalled that he might still have a race in him, an overall record of two wins in 23 starts is enough to make you look elsewhere for the winner.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-3| J: James Bowen| T: C L Tizzard| OR:  93| BF| C

Easy winner here two starts ago but latest effort at Fontwell littered with errors, which is a concern. Return to this track should help her cause but upped in grade today, so needs to find even more.

Forecasts

Cesar Et Rosalie (9/4), San Satiro (9/2), Braventara (5/1), Max Forte (8/1), Cheque En Blanc (9/1), Pink Gin (10/1), Lizzie Langton (10/1), Lex Talionis (14/1)

Verdict

San Satiro might leave his hurdles form behind now he goes over bigger obstacles but he never really travelled with any gusto on his latest outing and is no sure thing to improve. Braventara warrants consideration as she may improve a little but the vote goes to LEX TALLIONIS, who is easily forgiven a poor effort on terrible ground last time, and his previous second gives him every chance here.
  1. Lex Talionis
  2. San Satiro
  3. Braventara
