Sold cheaply by Evan Williams (£2,000) in May 2018; finished a poor third on stable debut (2m, novices' limited handicap) here last month; dropped 3lb since.
Completed safely on his third start over fences at Hexham (2m4f, heavy) latest, when simply no match for subsequent winner Glittering Love; dropped 4lb since with prowess on a sounder surface unknown.
Previous course winner (2m) who does also stay this trip; has failed to convince in four starts since scoring at Kelso (2m1f, heavy) in April; cheekpieces removed, yet remains a risky proposition.
0-4 over hurdles in Ireland for Christian Delcros (2m3f-2m5f) and makes no appeal based upon what he has shown so far for Rebecca Manzies; pulled-up (hampered early) on chasing debut at Wetherby on Boxing Day.
Struggling to make his mark of late (has fenced moderately), but is very attractively handicapped in a weak race as a result; represents an in-form trainer, so it could be worth taking a leap of faith.
Has shown improved form since switched to fences by Tina Jackson; a mere reproduction of his Wetherby Boxing Day third (beaten 6L) to Moving In Style (3m) could well prove good enough.
Veteran who can force the pace; without a win since March 2017 (Sedgefield); makes little appeal from just outside of the handicap despite the paucity of talented opposition in the line-up.
Forecasts
Younoso (2/1), Titian Boy (5/2), Outnumbered (3/1), Monsieur Bagot (11/1), Charlie Snow Angel (14/1), Mr Kit Cat (20/1), Duhallowcountry (33/1)
A race which quite truthfully is probably best ignored both short and longer-term. However, there will be a winner and the Tina Jackson-trained Younoso is one of the likelier candidates after a couple of fair chasing efforts at Wetherby. However, a leap of faith is taken on the well handicapped (but largely disappointing) TITIAN BOY. He represents an in-form trainer in the shape of Nick Alexander and is now a full 20lb lower (25lb if factoring in the 5lb claim of Sam Coltherd) than when finishing a close second to Halcyon Days over 2m here in March 2017 (heavy).
- Titian Boy
- Younoso
