Consistent and tries hard, ran right to form when second at Exeter on latest start. Trip fine (although yet to win at it), ground should be okay and no reason for him not to run his race once again.

Better class than this at his best, but last few efforts have been lacking and as such, he's fallen to an attractive looking mark. Reverts to hurdles and seems happiest right-handed, so maybe not the biggest surprise if he bounces back.

Has shown some ability in handicap hurdles already, close fourth at Warwick latest in a race that is working out well (third a winner next time). Should have a bit more improvement in the locker and a big player here.

Beaten out of sight in two starts since joining this yard and trainer hasn't had a winner for over four years. That's unlikely to change here.

Have to go back to 2015 to find the last (and only) time he won one, placed in a couple of very moderate events recently but may find this trip on the short side. Hard to get too excited about his chances.

Forecasts

Trans Express (13/8), Welluptoscratch (9/4), Navajo War Dance (5/2), Star Foot (8/1), Sporty Yankee (50/1)

Verdict

Trans Express is likely to give this a good go from the front and will take some passing, but NAVAJO WAR DANCE has caught the eye a couple of times in defeat and this looks easier. He can pick Trams Express of late in the day. Welluptoscratch will probably be staying on too, but this trip does look on the short side for him. Star Foot is attractively weighted but needs to refind some form.
  1. Navajo War Dance
  2. Trans Express
  3. Welluptoscratch
