125,000gns yearling newcomer by Lope De Vega out of a 5f winner who is a half-sister to high class sprinter Alhebayeb. Very fast pedigree and represents a trainer who is prolific with two-year-olds so very much on the shortlist.
Son of Bated Breath from a prolific family of winners could never land a blow on debut at Salisbury just over a month ago although late progress suggested more to come. Trainer's juveniles do progress so better expected.
230,000gns two-year-old purchase by top sire Pivotal is a half-brother to a 1m5f winner out of a Listed placed middle distance dam. Trainer has an exceptional record in this race so must be considered. Yard also run Speed To Burn.
Son of Kodiac ran with promise first time up at Newmarket when third to a potential group horse beaten 5L. Trainer's newcomers invariably need experience so will surely step up on that now which ranks him a leading contender.
Newcomer by Showcasing cost 110,000gns as a yearling. Brother to two winners including US Grade Two scorer Prize Exhibit (6f-1m) and half-brother to five more. Nice pedigree but owner retained jockey prefers Mawsool.
£100,000 yearling by Dandy Man is a half-brother to a two-year-old scorer in Italy. Maiden dam from a good family over 6f-7f. Trainer does well with two-year-olds so any market support would be notable.
Speedily bred Requinto colt was second (of four) on debut at Bath on firm ground earlier in the month going down by just ½L. Hard to evaluate that form but suspect this race will be considerably tougher. Obviously has ability so on the shortlist.
Firebreak filly newcomer is sister to modest 5½f scorer Catheadans Fury for this stable. Looks to be a tall order for her on debut for a yard not prolific with two-year-olds.
Showcasing newcomer out of a useful 6f-7f winner including at two from a good sprinting family. Leading jockey booking a positive but trainer not had a two-year-old debut win since 2010.
Has finished last on both starts so far, and while she has hinted at ability, it will be in low-grade sprint handicaps that she flourishes, if at all.
Raven's Pass filly is half-sister to a 1m winner in Why We Dream out of a 6f two-year-old winner including Italian Listed race. Likable, fast pedigree and trainer can ready newcomers so market check advised.
Mukhadram filly is half-sister to five winners who mostly excelled over middle distances and two of them became hurdlers later on. Yard not renowned for two-year-old success and this one likely excel over further next year.

This race doesn't offer as strong form as division 1 of the contest so newcomers could come to the fore. William Haggas and Richard Hannon both have fine records in the race and their newcomers are the ones who stand out. Speedily bred APLOMB is the preference over Dragon Sun who looks the pick of the Hannon pair. Of those we've seen on the track Mawsool makes the most appeal particularly given Ed Dunlops' runners always progress from their first run.
