Has gone close a couple of times since moving from Ireland to join current handler and now drops back in trip having struggled to see it out over further. 1lb higher than last time but still a player for yard in fair form.
Still a maiden under Rules but looked on way to breaking his duck at Bellewstown last time only to unseat rider when clear 2 out. Makes long trip from County Meath and champion jockey is booked so looks like connections are out to recover losses.
Won a couple of times in 2016/17 season but on a nine-race losing streak since. Ideally suited by ground no quicker than good so with the hot weather continuing and ground drying out might find this tough on first run since summer break.
Five wins on Flat for William Knight at up to two miles, but has been rested since December after disappointing in all three hurdles outings. Makes handicap bow here on better ground so certainly worth a market check for any stable confidence.
Grand old timer, winner of 9-77 over hurdles. Stays up to 2m6f but currently looks in handicapper's grip. Yard in cracking form though of late (9-39) so cannot be completely ruled out of it.
Won twice at Southwell this spring and duly rose in the handicap. Ran poorly at Cartmel recently under regular amateur rider and interesting booking this time suggests they may be hoping for better this time.
Joined current yard in July 2017 and duly won first two starts. Not seen for a year until reappearing and running well to be second last week at Uttoxeter. Bounce factor a slight concern but is very much respected.
Forecasts
Mr Caffrey (11/8), Roi De Dubai (5/2), Travertine (11/2), Midtech Valentine (10/1), Danceintothelight (12/1), Captain Peacock (14/1), Bentons Lad (25/1)
Irish raider ROI DE DUBAI looked unlucky when losing his rider two out last time when in command, so with the champion jockey taking over looks to have a solid chance of recovering losses. Travertine should be thereabouts after some solid recent efforts, while there is a case to be made for both Mr Caffrey and Bentons Lad. Handicap debutant Captain Peacock is the dark horse of the race so any money for him might prove very significant.
