Winner on her second start at Kempton (7f AW), but failed with similar front-running tactics at Doncaster latest (6½f); should be suited by this drop back in trip for handicap debut.
Had shown improvement in each of his first three starts (5f-6f), prior to a slightly below-par nursery debut at Chelmsford recently; potential excuses for that performance and still unexposed in handicap company, so couldn't be dismissed.
Cost £65,000 as a yearling, and showed ability on heavy ground on his first couple of starts (5f) early season; had a short break since racing at Chester in May and steps into handicap company gelded.
€60,000 yearling, but fair to say that he's not exactly improved with racing (5f-7f), and has dropped 2lb in the weights since his Haydock nursery debut tenth of 12 to Luchador (6f, good to firm).
Consistent sort who wasn't beaten far in a 5f fillies maiden at this track (soft) in May, and has a pedigree which strongly implies that a step up in trip wouldn't necessarily go amiss; much respected on handicap debut.
Cost 30,000gns as a yearling, but yet to threaten to trouble the judge in three starts so far (finished last of nine latest); up in trip for handicap debut, but very difficult to enthuse over.
Started at big prices in all three starts (6f-7f), demonstrating a very modest level of ability; well out of the handicap for debut at this level, and impossible to consider despite the newly applied cheekpieces.
Forecasts
Don Armado (7/4), Improvising (5/2), Dancing Speed (5/1), Spirit Kingdom (6/1), Awake In Asia (10/1), House Deposit (12/1), Pink Porrino (66/1)
A low-key nursery in which the top-weight Spirit Kingdom will set the early pace and give the others the target to aim towards. She is already a winner, and whilst undeniably suited by this drop in trip, the suspicion remains that she's unlikely to be doing her strongest work late in the race. For that reason, the selection is the reliable handicap debutante IMPROVISING, who is bred to be suited by stepping up in trip to 6f.
