Third in this race last year off a 2lb lower mark he then went on to win his next two handicaps over this trip. Not won since then but has been competing in higher grade and this course winner lost nothing in defeat last time; needs strong gallop.
Dropped 3lb below the mark he won off at York last September this is a slight ease in grade after he shaped better than the result last time over 1m4f. Back down to 1m now he looks of interest here although he could do with some ease in the ground.
Not the most predictable sort he's 5lb higher than his last win having been given a chance off his last mark but has now drifted back up the handicap. Nothing wrong with the run last time but just appears to need a little more.
Winner over 7f at Thirsk last year he ran a sound race on his next start here over 7f. His three runs this year haven't really been up to that level though but he is slipping back towards his last winning mark; could do with a slower surface.
The sole three-year-old in the field her form has been a little inconsistent (not unusual for one from this yard); got back to winning ways last time at Hamilton (1m1f). Well placed in the contests she showed a good attitude and should go well again.
