Capable sprinter who was not at his best at Meydan at the start of the year. Returned home and never landed a blow in a conditions race at Doncaster last month. Capable of better.
Consistent sort who ran respectably when runner-up in a conditions event at Wolverhampton last time. More needed to land this prize and connections reach for a visor.
Completed a hat-trick towards the back end of last summer and return to grass at Doncaster last month saw him finish ahead of Lancelot Du Lac and Danzeno. Every chance if translating that form to the AW.
Fine strike rate of eight wins from 17 starts on the AW. Has ½L to make up on Ice Age on Doncaster running, but has every chance of bridging the gap on this surface.
Returned from his winter break to finish fourth of eight in a handicap at Kempton earlier this month. Has something to find with Double Up on their running at the same venue in the autumn.
Competed with credit against the likes of Harry Angel and Blue Point last season. Has been gelded and should be a big player if straight enough for this first run since August. Trainer won this last year.
Forecasts
Mubtasim (6/5), Lancelot Du Lac (15/8), Mazzini (8/1), Ice Age (8/1), Double Up (16/1), Danzeno (20/1)
Some useful sprinters cross swords in this and cases can be made for most of them. Ice Age had LANCELOT DU LAC and Danzeno behind him at Doncaster last month, but the selection may turn the tables on his preferred AW surface. Mubtasim is a danger to all on his reappearance after being gelded and Double Up also enters calculations. Mazzini looks to have a bit to find.
