Showed some ability in bumpers but tailed off on both hurdles starts and likely to need a little more time before we see him at his best.

Point-to-point winner in March 2016 and successful in a bumper at the second time of asking on soft ground here 12-months ago. Well held behind a useful rival on hurdling debut and more needed.

Showed some promise last time on hurdles debut having been well beaten on both point-to-point runs and both bumper starts. This looks much tougher again though and hard to fancy.

Good effort to finish third in a Doncaster (good) bumper in February 2016 but not gone on from that and beaten 30L into fifth on hurdling debut over C&D last month.

Well held in both starts in bumpers most recently at Southwell on soft ground behind the high class Willoughby Court. Making his hurdles debut following over two years off the track.
Point-to-point winner, cost £20,000 at the sales in November. Likely to want plenty further than this but not ruled out and gets the claims of a talented 5lb conditional in the saddle.
Nice enough pedigree but he has finished tailed off on both bumper starts and will need to take a big step forward to land a blow here. Positive jockey booking.

Won Irish point-to-point on debut on soft ground and subsequently placed in two Irish hunter chases for Ted Walsh. Nice start to his career for this yard when runner-up last time and good chance he'll improve for that effort. Sets the standard.

Winner of his third start in bumpers at Exeter (2m1f, good) when trained by Brian Eckley. Best effort in three outings over hurdles for this yard came when a neck second over 3m at Ffos Las (heavy) last time out. Drops in trip today.

Signs of promise on his first two bumper starts but modest efforts in two subsequent starts and probably best watched on hurdles debut.
Won an Irish maiden point-to-point on his second start and changed hands for £50,000. Went well for a long way at Wetherby on Rules debut and should improve from that. Interesting runner with top jockey in the saddle.

Not without promise on debut effort around here in a bumper but well beaten at Ludlow last time and unlikely to play a part in the finish here.
Tailed off or pulled up on his three starts so far and no real signs of turning the corner at Cheltenham last month. Will need to have improved rapidly.

Useful on the Flat and showed signs he was ready to reproduce that form over hurdles when fourth of 15 here last time out. Needs another step forward but should improve and proven in the conditions to some extent.
Placed in a bumper on debut and improved on his hurdling debut when finishing 10L third over C&D on heavy ground last month. Stable in good form at present and one to note in this contest.
Beaten out of sight in three bumper starts and similar story on hurdles debut at Bangor. Hard to fancy.

Forecasts

Jammin Masters (9/4), Jaunty Flyer (4/1), The Sweeney (6/1), Just Don't Ask (7/1), Diablo De Rouhet (10/1), Subcontinent (10/1), Hillary View (12/1), Atomic Rumble (20/1), Cadeyrn (25/1), Frankly Speaking (25/1), Sartene's Son (25/1), Hugo's Reflection (25/1), Golden Sandstorm (25/1), Jimmy Bell (50/1), One Leader (66/1), Celer Et Audax (66/1)

Verdict

JAMMIN MASTERS has shown a fair level of ability to date and while he has to prove he goes in this likely bottomless ground, he won in soft last time and sets a fair standard. Just Don't Ask put in a promising performance on Rules debut last time and gets the assistance of Aidan Coleman in the saddle while Subcontinent was better last time and looks as if he is starting to get the hang of the National Hunt game.
  1. Jammin Masters
  2. Just Don't Ask
  3. Subcontinent
