Half-brother to 7f-1m AW winner Magic Mirror, out of a 1m2f winner who is closely related to useful 7f-1m1f winner Creekview and out of 1m5½f Listed winning sister to Arc winner Carnegie. Yard's turf juveniles 25%, so market check advised.
16,000gns yearling. Half-brother to 1m4f AW winner Major Ben out of an unraced half-sister to Listed winners Mona Lisa (1m4f), Photogenic (7f) and Croeso Cariad (Italian 7f at two). Yard had one juvenile winner this year, so probably best watched.

€10,000 yearling, who increased to £62,000 as a juvenile. Third foal of a 1m two-year-old winner, out of 7f winning granddaughter of good French sprinter Spain Lane. Stable just one turf juvenile winner this year, though in good form. Market check.

€175,000 yearling. Half-brother to 5f-5½f winner Lady Clair (inc at two), out of an unraced half-sister to German 1m1f Listed winner Important Time and useful 6f-7f winner Satwa Story. Grandam a French 1m2f Group 1 winner. Interesting newcomer.

Improved for his debut though still well beaten when last seen at Doncaster (7f, good to soft) in October. Plenty of winners in his pedigree and step up in trip may help him improve, though looks like handicapping awaits.

Half-brother to five winners, including Manduro (7f-1m4f, inc Prince Of Wales's Stakes) and three German winners from 1m-1m3f (inc Listed). Dam German Listed-placed winner over 7½f. Represents top yard and should be capable of making a good debut.

£32,000 yearling. Half-brother to four winners from 5f-1m3f, all who did so at two, out of a 1m2f winner. Stable's two-year-olds have not been as successful as usual this season, running at 8%, so market check advised to gauge any confidence in him.

Had a nice sighter here over C&D (good to soft) last month, when a 3¾L sixth of 10. Ought to improve for that experience and if he can do, then he would look short-list material this time.

Half-brother to four winners up to 7f, including Kingsgate Native (5f-6f Group 1), out of a 1m winner. Grandam a half-sister to 1,000 Guineas winner Las Meninas. His top sire and dam both won on soft ground, so a big first effort would not surprise.

Was supported from 50-1 in to 40-1 before his debut at Newbury last month (1m, soft). Ran well for a long way before weakening out of it there. Should come on for the experience and could finish much closer this time.

€80,000 foal who rose to 165,000gns as a yearling. First foal of a Group-placed 7f two-year-old winning half-sister to the prolific French 1m-1m2½f winner Black Jewel. Stable among the winners in recent days and a market check is suggested.

Arguably outperformed his 25-1 SP when beaten just 3L over C&D (good to soft) on debut last month. That was a promising effort for a long way and there should be a fair bit more to come. Any improvement today would make him short-list material.

€215,000 yearling and therefore the most expensive runner in the field. Second foal of a German 1m-1m2½f winner (inc Listed), closely related to a 1m Group 3 winner at two. Stable at 22% with turf juveniles this year and he could go well.

Half-sister to three winners, including Personify (6f-1m2f inc at two) and Declamation (7f-1m). Dam French 7f/1m (Group 3) juvenile winner, out of French Oaks second Her Ladyship. Stable 1-17 with two-year-olds this year and probably best watched.

Verdict

An interesting maiden with some top stables being represented and ultimately the market may prove to be our best guide. However, pedigree suggests that it could pay to side with RHODE ISLAND. One of two John Gosden-trained runners, he has a lovely page, should be straight enough first time, and both his sire and dam loved some cut in the ground. Stablemate Hipster Boy should be capable of making a nice debut along with fellow newcomers Balkhash, Doctor Knox, True Destiny, Young Rascal and Lopito. Of those with experience, My Lord And Master and Victory Chime make the most appeal.
  1. Rhode Island
  2. Victory Chime
  3. Young Rascal
