Debut winner at Newmarket in 2014 but lost his way towards the back end of 2015 and not been seen since. Entitled to need this run after a lengthy absence and this may be a stepping stone to bigger things (Entered in a Group 2 on Champions Day).
Back-to-back winner earlier in the campaign, with the second of those wins coming over 1m6f here. Largely been running well in defeat since but drop back in trip may not be in his favour. Wears first-time blinkers.
Started his career in France but won on his first two starts in the UK, including a win over 1m2f here towards the end of 2016. Well beaten on all starts this season but not dismissed if he gets back on track for his new yard off a workable mark.
Gained fifth career win at Haydock last time but his four turf wins have all come with cut in the ground and he's yet to run without soft in the going. All his form has come on flat tracks but interesting runner if he improves for a faster surface.
Has become inconsistent, with just one win in his last 24 starts and out of form in three starts this summer. Not won on turf since his maiden win in 2012 and likely to struggle here.
Impressive C&D winner in June but has been struggling a little from his revised mark. Fair effort at Newcastle when second of five last time out and can't be discounted back here with a less exposed profile than many of his rivals.
Followed up a Salisbury win by landing a Class 4 handicap here over 1m2f last month. Struggled in softer ground at Ascot last time out but he's versatile tactics-wise and worth giving another chance to in what's likely to be faster conditions.
Course winner in July but not as effective in two subsequent starts. May do better back on what is likely to be faster ground here and he's still unexposed, with him likely to improve as he steps up in trip; likes to be ridden close to the pace.
Forecasts
Torcello (5/4), Amlad (9/2), Saunter (6/1), Roar (6/1), Jaameh (12/1), Marmajuke Bay (12/1), Ooty Hill (20/1), Afonso De Sousa (50/1)
AMLAD was impressive when winning over C&D earlier in the campaign and he gives the impression we are yet to see the best of him yet. Torcello may do better returned to fast ground provided the rain stays away and similar can be said for Marmajuke Bay who has only been seen on rain affected ground when it comes to turf; Mark Usher's four year-old could be the main danger if he handles the track.
