Still a maiden in this sphere which is a slight worry (four places) but he has found one too good on five of his last six starts. Ran up to his best last time but overall record is daunting and it may be another place to add to the collection.
Showed some useful form over hurdles when trained by Noel Meade winning twice from four runs. Has yet to beat a horse home in three runs for this yard over fences, jumping poorly each time, although on the positive side the mark continues to fall.
Frequent visitor to this venue and added a hurdles win here in August off this mark and shaped well enough last time out here back over fences. Doesn't look the finished article over fences yet but would have to be respected here.
Point-to-point winner who looks to have struggled over hurdles even on her debut for this yard, having previously been trained in Ireland. Now makes her chasing debut in a handicap in any sphere for the first time and worth a market check.
Irish point-to-point winner who cost £100,000 but never really appeared to take to hurdles (poor on handicap debut last time). May well show some improvement switched to fences but hardly a solid proposition.
Has had two runs for this yard now and shown very little in either of them looking pretty limited and showing little aptitude for fences. Dropped 8lb from his last run but still looks as though he needs further help from the handicapper.
Form of late has been very poor and she continues to show little, never travelling well last time out. Hard to find too many positives in her profile and best watched here.
Left her previous chasing efforts well behind when winning over 3m at Hexham on her penultimate start with the trip and cheekpieces having a positive effect. Failed miserably to follow-up that effort just underlining her inconsistent profile.
Overall record reads 0/20 and hardly has the form to recommend her here; will find life hard from 3lb out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Red Giant (7/4), Johnny Go (3/1), Golden Investment (3/1), Miss Joeking (9/1), Smiling Jessica (16/1), Here Comes Love (20/1), Classic Palace (22/1), Grey Storm (22/1), Daydream Island (33/1)
Hard to find many solid and consistent profiles in this and it may well be best to rely on three-time course winner JOHNNY GO, who has shown decent form over fences without winning but has won off higher marks over hurdles. Golden Investment would have a chance if running up to his best but he’s flattered to deceive on a few occasions now and another place may be on the cards. Grey Storm wasn’t a cheap buy and may show more over fences than he did over hurdles while Smiling Jessica could also improve over fences for the capable Menzies yard.
