Consistent but not easy to win with. His level of performance suggests that he should be up to winning a race like this at some point, but he just doesn't seem to have that bit extra at the business end and he might find one too good again today.
Won a Sedgefield maiden hurdle when last seen in May and although that was not a hot race. it was a 9L winning margin on ground also described as good. A repeat of that effort may well prove good enough to follow up in this company.
It has taken the handicapper some time to come up with a mark of 94 for his hurdles efforts after heavy defeats in every start so far. The fact that he is kept to novices' company suggests that that is perhaps not viewed by connections as realistic and he looks best watched.
Hurdling debutante who essentially has a 1m Flat pedigree and has largely raced over that trip on the level. This flat track won't ask too many questions of his stamina but he still has that to prove. Stable's runners perhaps just coming into form. Market check suggested.
Dam was a 2m-2m4f chase winner, so she may be able to improve on what we saw when she made her racecourse debut in a Kelso bumper in May, when last of 13, beaten 70L. Watching brief advised today.
The best of his four bumper runs was the last of them at Kelso in May (good) and she was not disgraced on her debut over hurdles in maiden company here last month. Looks in need of further than this, but in a weak contest she might be able to pick up some prize money.
Forecasts
Man Look (11/10), Golden Town (6/4), Sense Of Urgency (8/1), Sir Tommy (16/1), The King's Steed (33/1), Miss Quest (100/1)
With the profile of Golden Town being one who runs well in defeat, he is hard to recommend for the win here and the vote goes to MAN LOOK, who can probably add to his Sedgefield success. There is little else of interest though Sense Of Urgency might be the one to follow them both home this time.
