January foal who cost 220,000 guineas as a yearling. A full-brother to the 7f/1m winner Volition and clearly commands respect given the yard's excellent juvenile strike-rate, including first time out.
A half-brother to numerous winners and really looks the part on paper, having cost 300,000 guineas as a foal. That said, he didn't pull up any trees on his debut when seventh of 11 at Haydock (good to firm), though easier ground may see him in a better light.
Changed hands for 250,000 guineas as a yearling and holds a Group 1 entry but no real market confidence behind him when finishing fourth of 12 on his debut over 7f (good to firm) at Salisbury. Open to improvement.
A 38,000 guineas yearling purchase who has more of a middle-distance pedigree and has already been gelded. Yard very rarely strike with juveniles on turf, so watching brief the best policy.
Only cost 46,000 guineas as a foal but price shot up to £140,000 as a yearling. Plenty to like on paper but yard's juveniles struggling to find the mark this year. Market will guide.
Hails from a good family and cost a whopping €420,000 as a yearling. Yard's juveniles have looked well-forward this season and is a likely type first time out unless the market vibes suggest otherwise.
April foal whose pedigree and sales price isn't as eye-catching as some in this race. The fact that he is claimer-ridden on his debut tempers enthusiasm.
Cost 300,000 guineas as a yearling and is a sister to the Group 3 winner Piping Rock but unfancied when sixth and third respectively in maidens at Newbury and here so far. Sets the standard but seemingly vulnerable to anything above average.
Forecasts
Al Hajar (1/1), Game Player (3/1), Anna Nerium (6/1), Jawwaal (8/1), Groveman (12/1), Slipstream (16/1), Wilson (40/1), I'm A Star (66/1)
Some fancy price-tags on show here but those to have already raced are none too convincing in the short-term and it may pay to concentrate on a newcomer with Slipstream and AL HAJAR looking the most likely types. Preference is for the latter on the basis of Charlie Appleby's particularly impressive strike-rate with newcomers this year.
