Much improved in recent weeks with his sole poor effort coming over further. Found a Dan Skelton improver too good for him here last time but was still clear of the third. Should be entering the fray from off the pace once more.
Hit form at this time last season and picked up a Roscommon hurdle at 33/1. Hard to fancy on current evidence, but she had a similar profile before hitting that purple patch last summer.
Claimed out of Alan Jones yard for £4,000 following his latest run. Trainer more than capable of bringing horses back and he has an impressive 18-38 record here with his summer hurdlers. One to note in the market, although his best efforts have come on more testing ground.
Exploited an attractive mark at Worcester last week and shoulders a 7lb penalty as a result. Due to go up an additional 4lb after this and stable are 3-5 in the past 14 days.
Has made no impact on recent starts under either code and meets rivals who are in much better shape.
Modest Flat performer who is yet to make the frame over hurdles. Recent efforts under both codes have been dismal and hard to see him being involved at present.
Yet to make the frame in 11 career starts. Tailed off when last seen in August and meets some in form rivals here.
Has lost his way since a Newton Abbot success in June 2016. Has dropped below that mark and with good cause. His usual hood is removed for this and regular rider is on board.
Produced his best effort at Market Rasen on penultimate start but was poor here a month later. Tried to refuse two out that day so one to be wary of.
Showed a glimmer of promise on debut in a bumper at Musselburgh last year but has finished last on his two most recent starts. Has come off the bridle early in these races and it is doubtful his opening mark is helpful.
Managed to complete the course last time but only had one rival behind. When Galileo's stock go wrong it can be almost impossible to bring them back and Evan Williams has an unenviable task.
Has been far too keen on his last couple of starts and has failed to complete as a result. Sole success in 38 starts came over fences here in September but he remains a risky option.
Forecasts
Beau Bay (11/8), Stonecoldsoba (11/4), Sweeping Rock (7/2), Bumble Bay (11/1), Greenworldsolution (16/1), Jinsha Lake (16/1), Gwili Spar (28/1), Vintage Salon (33/1), Overrider (50/1), First Summer (50/1), Strike Fear (50/1), Lunar Logic (66/1)
Beau Bay is one to note on his debut for a trainer who can get excellent results with horses brought in cheaply from other yards. Sweeping Rock should give another good account but STONECOLDSOBA is hard to oppose. Aidan Coleman's mount made short work of the opposition on his handicap debut over hurdles. He left the impression he had enough in hand to defy a penalty and, due to go a further 4lb after this, he would be expected to account for a fully handicapped bunch of rivals..
- Stonecoldsoba
- Sweeping Rock
- Beau Bay
