Former high-class handicap chaser that's fallen a long way in the weights, but showed signs of a resurgence at Southwell last time (travelled well) and was only beaten by an improving sort. same mark here and as long as rain stays away, holds a solid chance.
Very hit and miss, and jumping often an issue as it was at Southwell last time when he got no further than the first, but useful when he puts it all together and was a winner at Market Rasen the time before. Needs the rain to stay away but not discounted if it does.
Placed both starts here, so likes the track, but this front-runner seems to have gone off the boil of recent efforts are anything to go by. Won't want any rain either and makes little appeal here.
Last win came back in 2013, but some 11lb lower than that now and ran well at Cartmel on his comeback (second to Domtaline, reopposes on 7lb better terms) after a 19 month absence. Chances if not "bouncing" after that run.
Well backed to make a winning debut for this yard, but very disappointing at Southwell in June (held by Solar Impulse on that) and really needs to sort jumping technique out before being considered.

Red Riverman (7/4), Solar Impulse (3/1), Red Giant (4/1), Virnon (5/1), Royal Plaza (5/1), The Yank (7/1), Avidity (7/1)
SOLAR IMPULSE dropped a big hint that he was on the way back to better form when second to the unexposed Stynes at Southwell last time and this looks no harder. He holds a solid chance in a race that a few have something to prove. Red Riverman should go close if he's over his Cartmel exertions but a poor overall strike rate means he's more likely to hit the frame than win. The race for the bronze can be won by Virnon if his jumping holds up.
