Won a bumper at Ffos Las back in November, but didn't cope with the extra weight next time out at Newbury. Opposable under the penalty again.
Yard has been quiet recently but he has winners in his pedigree and this is not the strongest of events; one to bear in mind as a future prospect at least.
Needs to deliver on the promise he has shown but no surprise to see him find the necessary change of gear when required. Yard had a Cheltenham Festival winner earlier in the week and this fellow may be capable of doing his bit to extend the celebrations.
Represents a top yard and should have benefited greatly from his debut run. Sure to make a decent chaser in time, if he lives up to the promise held in his pedigree. One to seriously consider if the betting shows him in a positive light.
Connections paid out €53,000 to secure his services. As a brother to the useful Shantou Village, he is sure to be trained with a career over fences in mind. Yard is capable in this sphere so no forlorn hope of making a winning debut.
Trainer very capable of getting the best out of an improving individual but there has to be a suspicion this gelding will be better when he has some obstacles to aim for in his races. Respected but not one to go overboard with at present.

Forecasts
Linenhall (7/4), Portrush Ted (11/4), Victarion (4/1), The Welsh Paddies (6/1), Buckby Boy (13/2), Iron Horse (12/1), Midnight Magic (14/1), Take Em Out (16/1), Sixteen Letters (25/1)
As ever with bumpers, this is best approached with one eye on the future. Buckby Boy certainly fits that profile and he will be one to keep tabs on whatever occurs on the racecourse. However, LINEMAN has a valuable edge in terms of experience and just edges a slender vote of confidence this time around. Portrush Ted was an expensive purchase and will have the weight of expectation thrust upon him. However, as is the case with Buckby Boy, he is very much a long-term prospect and can only benefit this experience. Iron Horse also makes some appeal on breeding and catches the imagination as one to bear in mind at longer odds.
- Linenhall
- Buckby Boy
